Philosophy of traditional Thai rituals

While the world is trying to keep up with life, rapidly accelerating pace, Thailand was able to maintain its peculiarity of the Land of Smiles and its inhabitants - the reputation of good-natured people. Thailand is a mysterious country surrounded by myths and legends. One of them is a legend about the healing power of Thai traditional medicine, which is based on the "Thai ritual".

One of the events that determined the life of Siam (the ancient name of Thailand) was the spread of Buddhism, which penetrated there from India about 2500 years ago. Along with Buddhist monks, practitioners of Ayurveda came from India, bringing the knowledge of yoga. The practice which formed as a result of the fusion of Thai medicine and Ayurveda was the basis of the modern Thai healing system, which includes herbal treatments, traditional Thai massage, Thai Yoga, aromatic saunas and the use of hot herbal compresses.

The founder of "Thai massage" is an Indian doctor named Jiva Kumar Bhikku. He is known as a friend and personal doctor of the Buddha. And today every Thai master before starting work reads a mantra dedicated to the “Doctor Father”. From a Buddhist point of view, the master should be guided by exceptionally sincere kindness as much as possible imbued with the physical and mental state of the Guest. Only in this case, the massage becomes healing for both participants in this procedure with a harmonious exchange of energy between them.

In modern Thailand, to become a highly qualified massage therapist, you must go through state multi-stage courses. And only at the end of them, a diploma is issued for the practice of massage.

The massage school of Wat Po monastery (Bangkok) is considered today the most famous and authoritative school of Thai massage. Amazingly beautiful place! We invite masters of Thai ceremonies trained at Wat Po Temple and various schools of the Thai Traditional Medicine Association to work at the Royal Thai Spa for the creation and enhancement of our exceptional image.

The health of the soul and body is not two different concepts, it is the whole one!

According to the theory of Thai medicine (massage) vital or internal energy circulates in the human body. It moves along special energy channels connected with all human muscles and organs. By acting on the points of intersection of the lines (acupuncture points) the massage therapist has a significant impact on the work of the internal organs, eliminates the cause of the disease, bringing the human energy into the desired state.

Cosmic energy enters the human body through these acupuncture points. If the points are closed for some reason a person begins to weaken physically and spiritually and can become seriously ill. The massage therapist by influencing the necessary points and lines opens a “window” for the free flow of energy and the person is healed!

Our salon Royal Thai Spa invites you to plunge into the centre of spiritual harmony, beauty and health!!!
